Abbot Kinney Boulevard

About The Blvd.

A mile of popular shops, restaurants, and galleries housed in eclectic century-old bungalows and modern architectural buildings in the heart of famed Venice, California. In 2012, GQ magazine named Abbot Kinney Boulevard as “The Coolest Block in America.”

Abbot Kinney Boulevard gets its name from Abbot Kinney, a wealthy entrepreneur of the 19th century credited with the development of Venice, California. As of 2016, the median real estate price in Abbot Kinney exceeded that of 94.7% of California neighborhoods and 99.3% of residences in the United States.

Abbot Kinney Boulevard serves as a sought-after location for film productions and other entertainment ventures, hosting a multitude of commercials, television series, and movies. During the 1990s, Robert Downey Jr. resided in an apartment along the boardwalk, while Jim Morrison called Venice home for two years. Notable figures such as Julia Roberts, Kate Beckinsale, Nicolas Cage, Mark Valley, and photographer Lauren Greenfield have also called the area home.
